You finally got the interview. It’s a 6 figure job at equifax.

You join the call. Here we go.

Recruiter Phone Screen

Pretty standard stuff.

• “Why do you want this job?”
• “Why equifax?”
• “Why are you looking for a new role?”
• “Tell me about yourself?”

With these things I’ve noticed that what matters is the questions you ask the interviewer at the end. People remember how things end (see peak end rule).

Have some good questions prepared. Here are a couple I like to ask:

• “What would success look like in this role?”
• “What are the biggest challenges this company is facing?”

Hiring Manager Interview

You’ll be shown a case study.

It’ll be a list of customers and their home loan applications. Your job will be to build a model to work out who should be approved and who should be flagged for further review.

How would you build it?

What they are looking for imo is how you validate the model. It’s not necessarily about building the model it is how you work out you made the right call (hint hint: precision and recall).
